The NGO La Source originally launched its programs in Senegal before expanding its activities to New York.
Our early days were challenging, as our primary objective was establishing trust and visibility within the local community. To achieve this, we actively engaged in community governance, serving as a Community Council Member from 2019 to 2021, and subsequently as the Second Vice President for Language Learners from 2021 to 2023.
Communicating our vision in English was initially a major hurdle since it was not our native language. However, fueled by an unwavering belief in our leadership and mission, we spared no effort to overcome these obstacles and advocate effectively for those we serve.
